I’ve been trying to continue my legume quest, and I found this recipe for rice cooker pilaf. For reasons I don’t remember I actually had cardamom. It’s such a privilege to have had the time and money to build up a few supplies in my kitchen. If only I had space! I remember in the beginning having to make a special trip for anything but the most absolute basic meals (salt, pepper, garlic powder, the end). Having a few spices and ingredients means that I don’t have to get bored of my cooking.
I mean, I still do, because sometimes I just don’t have the will, or energy, or whatever you want to call what you lack when you’re having a downswing. And I’m not going to lie: I really want a hamburger and french fries.
But this was tasty. Also cheaper and healthier than fried food.
It doesn’t look as good as it should, and I added mushrooms because hell, yeah, mushrooms, but did I mention the tasty?
I think I’ll have a bit more before I get back to work.
