Busy Days

Precious little writing, but sometimes meeting up with friends is both necessary and impossible temptation.

Last night was izakaya for a few hours with a friend that I haven’t seen in a long time. Our schedules are very incompatible. Chicken, chicken heart, and chicken gizzard skewers are some of my favourites.

Today was meeting up with dear friends in Akihabara. I don’t get down that way very often anymore. We tried out the cutlet sandwich vending machine.

They were really good and very filling. Of course each box came with a moist towelette.

And its own cute bag and postcard.

Then it was off to a Jump Up Joy free live. They’re a very young, cheerful and energetic dance vocal group.

There was time for a little shopping.

I wanted this shirt so much, but I just can’t afford it right now. 😦

And also time for doughnuts.

Like most pastries in Japan, the doughnuts are pretty, but not very sweet, catering to the tastes of most Japanese, who prefer milder flavours.

Unlike me. Very dear friend from America brought me all the Reese’s!

Peanut butter isn’t popular in Japan and it’s next to impossible to find Reese’s. They were never even my favourites until I moved here.

So yes, very busy, and I’ve picked up a bug, so I’ve been dropping dead into bed. Determined very much to continue writing at least a little tonight!
