Last year, in an excess of ambition, I bought spices and mixed up a chai recipe that I found, and subsequently lost, online. It was insanely peppery. I tinkered with the other spices and it’s quite good.
On the other hand I love me some chocolate, so I tinkered again recently, using some cocoa mix that was nearly ready to expire.
Japan is the land of limited edition flavours, and Kitkat chocolate bars are famous for the strange varieties they produce. One of the gourmet flavours that they produced was a red pepper bar.
As it happens, my chocolate chai drink is very reminiscent of that bar.
