I think that the only reason I know this song is that I heard it once on the radio and borrowed the CD from the library. He had a million other songs that were more famous but, in keeping with tradition, of course the one I like got no play up my way.
Enter Youtube. It’s a treasure trove of nostalgia. Nostalgia isn’t a thing you should dwell on, but a quick dive doesn’t hurt.
There are poet/singers. It’s harder to find them these days, in a form I can relate to. Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Tom Waits, Tori Amos, Counting Crows…It’s going to be a personal list because poetry is the most personal of literary forms. In any case, “Blood of Eden” is definitely a poem set to music (and unlike Dylan, he can sing).
