You can’t go far in Tokyo without coming across temples, shrines, and cemeteries. This one was in Shinjuku.
It’s hard not to think about death, under the circumstances. One minute you’re shopping for new shoes, the next you’re glancing in an open door to see the big photo of the deceased in the middle of a bunch of flowers. My apartment is apparently surrounded by such places. I always see groups of older people in the weddings and funerals suits following the signs to the right one.
Cheerful.
